Safeguard your feline friend from harmful diseases with a vaccination plan.
At Westbridge Veterinary Hospital we tailor vaccines to your cat’s lifestyle based on the AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners) recommendations. There are “core” vaccine, and “optional” vaccine recommendations.
Kitten vaccine schedules should be around the 8-week, 12-week, and 16-week mark.
After the kitten series is administered, your cat will come back for their adult series one year later. At that time, we offer a 3-year Rabies vaccine and a 4-year FVRCP vaccine.
If your cat goes outside, our Veterinarian will talk to you about also getting the Leukemia vaccine to help keep them protected.
At Westbridge Veterinary Hospital, we believe very strongly that adequately planning and preparing for kittenhood is of the utmost importance. It is for this reason that new kitten examinations are scheduled for a one-hour consultation. It allows us the opportunity to give you the tools needed to make the experience of raising your new family addition a positive one.
Every new kitten that visits our hospital will take home a custom kitten kit. Within the kits are our own personal pet care manuals with detailed documents including, adjusting to the new home, how to manage play-biting, basic training, behaviour, and much more! We’ve also included brochures with lots of useful information, such as a description of potentially necessary vaccines, pet insurance information, and emergency veterinary care. Of course, a kitten kit wouldn’t be complete without some fun and interactive toys!
