Puppy And Kitten Consultations

At Westbridge Veterinary Hospital, we believe very strongly that adequately planning and preparing for puppy- and kittenhood is of the utmost importance. It is for this reason that every new puppy or new kitten visit is scheduled for a one-hour consultation – 30 minutes with our technicians to review training, litter box best practices, etc., and 30 minutes with a vet to go over wellness, vaccination schedules, and other health-related topics. This gives us the opportunity to give you the tools needed to make the experience of raising your new family addition a positive one.

Every new puppy and kitten that visits our hospital includes one of our puppy or kitten ‘kits’ respectively. Within these kits are our own personal puppy and kitten manuals, with detailed documents including adjusting to the new home, how to manage play biting, crate training (for puppies), basic training, behaviour and punishment, and much more! We’ve also included brochures with lots of useful information such as a description of potentially necessary vaccines, pet insurance information, and emergency veterinary care. Of course, a puppy and kitten kit wouldn’t be complete without some fun and interactive toys!
